ABOUT

Art and design zine predominantly featuring Asian Australian artists and creatives

HOISZN is a quarterly art and design zine¹ based in Naarm/Melbourne, dedicated to celebrating the remarkable talents of Asian Australian creatives and their rich, diverse cultures. Independently created, designed, and produced, HOISZN seeks to elevate voices and perspectives that enrich the broader art and cultural landscape.

Our mission is to curate and share exceptional creative works, engaging discussions, and insightful articles, providing readers with fresh perspectives on art and culture. Each issue is thoughtfully crafted, featuring stunning visuals, compelling articles, and thought-provoking content that highlight the innovation and artistry of our vibrant community.

Available digitally and in limited print runs, HOISZN also includes a captivating gallery section that showcases the visionary work of Asian Australian artists and designers. Join us in discovering the next wave of talent shaping the future of art and culture.

Our journey began in May 2023, with months dedicated to building our foundation and refining our practices. In December of the same year, we proudly launched our inaugural issue, HOISZN 001. Since then, we have showcased the work of over 50 talented artists and featured more than 100 artworks across our publications.

How to get published

Issues of HOISZN are distributed quarterly, with each issue exploring a different theme. Each theme is announced as we open the application period for the upcoming zine. The best way to keep up to date on application dates is via our social media.

HOISZN would be honoured to feature diverse talent from all ethnicities, gender expressions and sexualities, however, we aim to predominantly spotlight talent from the Asian Australian community and POC kinfolk.
